Introduction to Mapping in MovieServer Reloaded

Whether you want to create a mansion, a race track or your own private castle, you can do it all and more using the mapping system available in MovieServer Reloaded. This guide was created to introduce the mapping system to new users of the server, as it might be very confusing to use at first.

Map Commands:

/createmap <mapname> <password>
  • mapname - the name of the map you want to give
  • password - the password of the map
Description:
Creates a map which you can edit.

Anyone who knows the mapname and password can access and edit the map

/loadmap <mapname> <password>
  • mapname - the name of the map that you gave in /createmap
  • password - the password of the map
Description:
Loads a previously created map.

/unloadmap <mapname> <password>
  • mapname - the name of the map that you gave in /createmap
  • password - the password of the map
Description:
Unloads the map, removing all the objects. The map is still loadable afterwards using /loadmap

/mapedit <mapname> <password>
  • mapname - the name of the map that you gave in /createmap
  • password - the password of the map
Description:
Allows user to edit a map that has been already loaded.

/mapeditq

no input parameters

Description:
Allows user to stop editing the map.

/maphelp <playerid/name> <mapname> <password>
  • playerid/name - the name or the ID of a player
  • mapname - the name of the map that you gave in /createmap
  • password - the password of the map
Description:
Allows user to invite other players to edit the map.

Object Commands:

/oc <modelid>
  • modelid - the ID of the object model. ID's can be found using /searchobject, /browseobjects or This Tutorial
Description:
Creates an object in the world in front of player.

/od <objectid>
  • objectid - The Map Object ID of the object. Returned by /oc
Description:
Deletes the object owning the objectid.

/osel <objectid>
  • objectid - The Map Object ID of the object. Returned by /oc
Description:
Selects an object ID for editing.

/selobj

no input parameters

Description:
Allows user to select an object, using their mouse cursor, for editing.

/ox <distance> ,  /oy <distance> , /oz <distance>
  • distance - The distance to move the object.
Description:
Moves the object in their respective X,Y,Z axis.

/rx <degrees> ,  /ry <degrees> , /rz <degrees>
  • degrees - The amount of degrees to rotate the object.
Description:
Rotates the object around their respective X,Y,Z axis.

/oe

no input parameters

Description:
Allows user to move and rotate the object using their mouse cursor.

/oclone

no input parameters

Description:
Clones the selected object on top of itself and then selects the cloned objects.

/omclone

no input parameters

Description:
Clones the selected object and its materials on top of itself and then selects the cloned objects.

/oreplace <modelid>
  • modelid - the ID of the object model. ID's can be found using /searchobject, /browseobjects or This Tutorial
Description:
Replaces a currently selected object with another one, while still maintaining the location and rotation of the previous object.

/orot <x Axis> <y Axis> <z Axis>
  • <x Axis> - The rotation in X Axis
  • <y Axis> - The rotation in Y Axis
  • <z Axis> - The rotation in Z Axis
Description:
Sets the global rotation of the object to these amounts. This should not be used most of the time, as /rx, /ry, /rz and /oe are more suited for most cases.

I haven't currently included the material commands, as they require a tutorial of their own. In meanwhile, you can head over to http://forum.reloadedserver.com/index.php/topic,38.0.html , which contains a guide how to use Manual Material option in /material.
